TranScreen Festival is now accepting film submissions by, about, with and for the transgender and gender diverse community. TranScreen envisions more positive and authentic representations of transgender people and gender diversity and hopes to encourage dialogue and sharing stories between communities in the Netherlands and across the globe. The next edition of TranScreen will be a mini edition of two days. TranScreen 2020 will take place on May 31st and June 1st in Kriterion in Amsterdam.
We are especially interested in films that touch on one of the following themes. However, we encourage you to submit any film that deals with (trans)gender issues.
Sports – Films that touch on the subject of sports, such as struggles as a transgender, nonbinary or intersex athlete, success stories of sportspeople or portraits of transgender communities involved in sports. Note: sports can be considered in a broad sense and does not have to be confined to Olympic Sports or World Cups.
Youth/Growing Up – Films that deal with transgender and gender diverse youth, such as the stories of transgender/gender diverse children growing up, films that discuss the parent’s/family’s perspective, films that deal with the representation of young transgender and gender diverse people.

Selection for our 2020 festival starts in January.
The final submission deadline is February1st, 2020.
We do not ask for an entry fee.
You’ll receive notification whether your work is accepted for the festival as soon as possible.
